Not after 35 years of bad blood-Had the Saudis offered to let Israel exist in existing borders 35 years ago in return for peace, they might have gotten a deal. Not now. Not with the Islamic world radicalized with two generations of pro-Palestinian, Jew-bashing rhetoric. Given that rhetoric and the two generations of intifadists it generated, Israel needs more defendable borders than the pre-67 lines. This looks a cynical ploy by the Saudis to cozy up to the Europeans, who have no love for Israel, and try to isolate the US as a Middle-eastern end game not to the House of Saud's liking plays out.
